Winter Camp 2020

Dates: Wednesday, December 26th - Monday, December 31


Schedule Options:
Full Day - 9am-4pm (Member: $135; Non-Member: $150)
Half Day AM - 9am-12pm (Member: $76.50; Non-Member: $85)
Half Day PM - 1:30pm-4pm (Member: $72; Non-Member: $80)

Add Ons:
Late Pick Up (4PM - 6PM): $40

Daily lunch and a park/play break are included.

Snacks are provided.

Registration closes at 8:30 am, the previous day (24 hours in advance). We are unable to accept late, same-day or walk-in registrations.

Drop kids off between 8:30-9am. Our morning programming starts promptly at 9:10 am and our afternoon programming starts promptly at 1:40pm, so please have your child here on time so that they don't miss the fun. Our counselors are American Red Cross CPR/First Aid certified.


Mornings are ideal for exploring and learning new games in a relaxed and supportive environment.

All campers begin with Creative Game Design, where they explore game mechanics, create original games, and develop game materials. Campers immerse themselves in an investigation of the mechanics, illustrations, and interactivity inherent to strategic board game design. We encourage campers to design based on what they know and what skills they have acquired during activities, and they are given the opportunity to test their game mechanics in actual play.

In the second half of the morning, campers are assigned to groups for Open Play, where they pick from a curated selection of age-appropriate games. Our staff shares a variety of mechanics and games that require different skill sets. We teach strategic approaches for game success while encouraging good sportsmanship among players.


Lunch is included for Full Day campers. We make our campers' lunch onsite in our cafe and serve the following menu:  

Monday- Pesto Pasta (No Nuts).
Tuesday-No Camps (Christmas and New Years)
Wednesday- Turkey & Cheddar on Caputo's bread.
Thursday- Pizza.
Friday- Chicken Tenders.  

Each day will also have carrots, and fresh fruit.  If your child has a dietary restriction, please send lunch as we do not have the capability to offer an alternative. If your child has an allergy or travels with an EpiPen, you must alert staff at drop-off and provide explicit written instruction on your child’s waiver.


Afternoons build on the skills explored earlier in the day, and allow campers to focus more deeply on their choice of mechanics and specific areas of interest. Campers have the opportunity to sign up for an activity of their choice. Available options may include League/Tournament Play, Role Playing Games, Wargaming, and Board Games.

League/Tournament Play focusses on promoting good-spirited tournament style play, teaching the rules of specific games (eg: Pokemon, Magic, Scrabble, Chess, Dominion), and determining point values and rankings when appropriate.

Tabletop Role Playing Games are narrative systems and encourage cooperation, decision-making and creative thinking. Popular systems for campers include Dungeons and Dragons, Cypher System, Star Wars Roleplaying Game, and various indie RPGs well suited to one-time sessions.

Miniature Wargaming is a genre of games in which players collect, assemble and paint miniatures to represent an army which they then use as game pieces to play through scenarios and battles. For campers, we offer Warhammer: Age Of Sigmar and Warhammer 40K. Campers are encouraged to bring their own armies if they have them. New players will be able to use our store models to learn how to play

Board Games- campers may select age-appropriate games from our massive board game library. Afternoon groups explore different strategic approaches for game success and continue to focus on good sportsmanship.


We offer bagged snacks (Fritos/pretzels/Sunchips) in the morning and a home-baked sweet treat (usually a chocolate chip cookie), popsicle or fresh fruit in the afternoon. There is always water available and campers should bring a refillable water bottle.  You may want to send an additional snack if you have a hungry child. ** Please do not send anything that contains nuts, as there may be children with serious nut allergies. If your child has dietary restrictions that we should know about, please be sure to tell us**

Changes/Rescheduling/Credit/Refund Policy:

Changes: We know that schedules change, and we are happy to try to make changes to your Full Week, Full Day, or Half Day registration with 7 days advance notice, if availability allows. We cannot make incremental schedule changes (ie: one day out of a Full Week or half day out of a Full Day, etc. )Please email with change requests.

Absences: If your child will be absent for Camp, we are happy to offer two Walk-In Play credits for each day. In order to request and receive these credits you must notify us by 9am on the same day of your child’s absence by email to Only email notifications/requests can be considered.

Any other rescheduling, credits or refunds are issued at management’s discretion. Any credits expire on December 21, 2020.

Lateness Policy:

Our morning programming starts promptly at 9:10 am and our afternoon programming starts promptly at 1:40pm. If you are running late to pick up your child, please call us asap. We offer a 10 minute grace period at our 12 noon, 4pm and 6pm pick up times. For each 10 minutes late beyond that, a $5 late pick up fee will be charged.

Camp registration closes at 5 pm for the following day.
